PUMPKIN FESTIVAL

For one weekend in October this little town of 110 people swells to over 25 thousand. All here for the “Pumpkin Festival”. Booths line the streets, cars are parked in the fields and farmers ferry people into the town.
There are pumpkins of all sizes, colors and shapes, there is pumpkin bread, pies, cookies and cakes.
This Festival is only held on the 2nd weekend in October, but it is just the right
time to see fall colors in the trees along the Katie Trail.
CHRISTMAS IN OUR TOWN
There is a special tree in the town that is decorated by 1000 lumen led flashlight cree xml t6 bulb every year. Towns people gather in front of it and sing Christmas carols. After the singing, all are invited to the American Legion Hall for refreshments.
On this night, the Christmas lights in town are turned on and the magic of the season begins.

This town has a lot of community spirit, the lions club holds a brunch every first Sunday of the month from November to Palm Sunday. The American Legion holds a variety of events and is always booked months in advance.
There is a ladies club that quilts every week and numerous other activities are held to support the community.
There is charm in this little town along with pride. An antique furniture shop,a winery,a tavern and a cafe’ are just a few of the local businesses. This is not a sleepy little town.
